Cormo Sheep Association
Elsawool is a member of this industry association dedicated
to Cormo sheep and wool.
MAVWA,
or Mountain and Valley Wool Association
This association promotes fiber animals and animal fiber crafts in
Colorado, New Mexico and Texas.
It produces the Wool Festival At Taos, which is held every year during the first
full weekend in October,
and which includes workshops the week before and the week after the
Festival.
Elsawool has been a vendor at this event since 1984,
and has served on the MAVWA board of directors since 2008.

The Wool Festival at Taos
The Wool Festival at Taos is held every year during the first full weekend in October, in Kit Carson Park in Taos, New Mexico.
Fiber craft workshops are the held the week before and the week after the Festival.
Elsawool has been a vendor at this event since 1984, and plans to be a vendor on October 2nd and 3rd, 2010.

Fiber Festival
This 2-day event features fiber animal exhibits, fiber craft
demonstrations and workshops,
as well as vendor booths and a Navajo rug auction. Elsawool has been a
vendor at this event in the past,
and plans to be a vendor on Memorial Day week-end in 2010.
Colorado Knitting Camp
The Colorado Knitting Camp will be held July 14th - 18th at the Residence Inn in Fort Collins, Colorado.
This year's teacher will be Nancy Bush.

Kathy Martin, with her daughter Kelley, raises Angora goats in Colorado,
and buys sheep and alpaca wools, mostly from Colorado.
Kathy washes, dyes, blends, and spins these fibers,
and she sells washed mohair locks, hand-spun and mill-spun roving, yarns, patterns, and kits.
She also teaches pickin', grinnin', and spinnin'.
La
Plata Farms
La Plata Farms, in Hesperus, Colorado, is owned by Doug and Pam Ramsey.
The Ramseys raise Navajo Churro and Lincoln sheep. They sell sheep,
fleeces, and supplies and books for spinners, dyers, knitters, and
crocheters.

Perfection Ranch
Jerry and Lyn Brown raise California Red sheep in La Plata, New Mexico.
California Reds were created from Tunis and Barbados stock.
